LOGLINE

The film is a Horror/thriller about a cult of serial killers hidden deep within Epping Forest. Police are investigating the killings of many people living in the region, the killer is found in your home when you are alone and is said to follow you home from the forest. No one knows the killer’s identity or what he or she looks like. Five teenaged boys decide to take the matter into their own hands and hunt the killer down who killed there friend.

TREATMENT

In the winter of 2016, dozens of unexplainable killings are taking place in the Epping Forest district. Random and violent attacks have been reported and it has been going on for weeks now. A huge police investigation is being carried out in the area. There have been no sightings and no evidence linking back to who the killer is. The forest is an extremely dangerous place now. The British government have sent warnings to the local towns around the forest and have persuaded people not to enter. Due to an investigation the government has closed off vast areas of the forest. No one really knows what is going on. Something is in the forest that we are not meant to find out about.

16-year-old Amy is a girl who lives with her family in a nice manor house on the edge of the forest; she is an ordinary teenaged girl. Amy believes that her part of the forest is safe because there have been no deaths around her area. One gloomy December afternoon Amy is jogging through the forest along the track she regularly takes every afternoon after school when she runs. Suddenly hundreds of warning signs warning not to approach any dead bodies stop her. There is police tape everywhere and she can here sirens in the distance. This causes her to panic; she runs back to her house and forgets about it. 

Amy’s parents are leaving for the night to go to London, leaving her at home by herself; it is just a normal Saturday night for her. She lays down in the living room and turns the TV on, but then there is a sudden power cut, she is left lying there in the pitch black. Amy walks over to the kitchen and grabs a torch; she bravely walks down to the basement, which looks rather sinister. She has a look at the main power switch in the basement and realises the switches had been turned off. Behind her in the corner of the room is someone with a disfigured mask. Their image is hard to explain and is disturbing, the killer approaches Amy and she is killed.

After the incident, the investigation goes on and becomes worldwide news, there ends up being hundreds of killings around the area,  5 of Amy’s friends who are all boys, considered as the rough ones decide to look into it themselves, they don’t like the police and they don’t trust them. One night they bravely search through the forest looking for evidence and clues as to what is happening, they are armed with knives and a Taser. They are so determined to find out the mystery behind all these deaths and hungry for revenge. What they find is disturbing, after searching for hours through the night in the forest not knowing where they are they find what seems like a camp deep in the forest made up of small shelters and fires dotted around. People with terrifying, disfigured faces and odd clothes are patrolling the area with weapons. It is utterly disturbing; they seem like some sort of cult. Hundreds of bodies of all the victims are hung from the trees around the camp. Amy’s friends are terrified and alone, they are spotted by the cult and spend along time trying to get away.

They manage to get out the forest and on to a high street at early hours in the morning; they are so relieved to be out the forest and are so disturbed and confused because of what they saw. They run to the police and the five of them cannot even talk they are in complete shock. The police end up getting it out of them and immediately send in Special Forces to the location, all the killings stop; nothing is broadcasted on the news. The government and police will not talk about it and they blame it on “Gangs around the area”.

OPENING SCENE

Panning shots of the forest (names of actors and movie directors), it is getting dark and the forest is looking unsafe and gloomy, sound effects will be added to exaggerate the creepiness of this forest and to make it feel unsafe. A teenaged girl is jogging through the forest in her running clothes. She runs down her normal route but she comes across what seems like a crime scene, she sees dozens of signs on every tree trunk in this section of the forest saying “Warning public safety notice”. This creeps her out and obviously she decides to run straight back home (shot of the back door locked shut). Her family are out for the night leaving her by her own. She feels unsafe and a bit confused about the signs in the forest but she does not think much of it. While she is watching, TV there is a power cut and the TV goes Static. She starts to panic a bit. She goes to the kitchen to grab a torch and makes her way down to the basement. (Shot of the back door open) where the main power switch is while she is looking at the power trying to fix it there will be a shot of a killer in a mask with a weapon in the background(eerie music and extreme close up of killers weapon.). She turns around shines the torch on the killer, the killer is terrifying she screams, as a knife is held up to her (close up of killers face. Before we see her actually getting murdered the shots cuts out, the screen goes black and the film title shows up.( static TV sound).
